Online opportunities abound for manufacturers that are not asleep at the wheel.

Well, I’m finally taking the plunge into the wonderful world of blogging. I’m thrilled to have been invited to post internet marketing blogs on the Waterloo Manufacturing Innovation Network!

As an internet marketing consultant since 1996, I have worked with literally hundreds of business owners from manufacturing companies in Waterloo Region and across Ontario. Most would agree that the wealth of expertise and cutting edge technology that our manufacturers offer the world is second to none.

But just as our regional manufacturers invest in equipment and tooling to stay competitive in a difficult economy, I believe it is equally critical that they leverage the power of the internet to increase their sales.

Manufacturers that act this year to turn their websites into dynamic 24/7 sales channels will certainly gain an advantage over their competitors. This is because when it comes to positioning their manufacturing capabilities online, the majority of industrial companies are still asleep at the wheel. Most are content to simply coast along with stale or poorly conceived company websites that are rarely if ever updated and generate few decent sales leads.

This blog is for industrial business owners who want to know how to brand their companies more effectively online.
